Part-Time Administrator - Swimming Auckland
After many years service our Administrator is retiring and is going to be very difficult to replace. However, we are now seeking applications for the position of Administrator (Part-time/20 hours per week) at Swimming Auckland.
This is a vital role in our small service centre office, based in Albany on Auckland’s North Shore. The successful applicant will have a strong work ethic together with a personality which is well suited to the service nature of our work.
The role involves database and information management/maintenance, event organisation involving liaising with club recorders/handicappers and the NSO, and the requirement to service, support and train volunteer workers throughout our club network in the Auckland Region. The successful applicant will carry primary responsibility for the maintenance of our website (www.akswim.co.nz) together with the production of various communication tools such as the Annual Report, Year Book and various other reports and forms.
Experience and familiarity with the Hy-Tek Meet and Team Manager products is considered a highly desirable pre-requisite. Book-keeping and/or MYOB capability may add an interesting additional dimension to your application with the possibility of the position’s scope being expanded for an applicant with these additional skills.

Assistant Coach - Tawa, Wellington
Tawa Swimming Club currently has a vacancy for an Assistant Coach.
This is a part-time role of approx 10 hours a week delivering a coaching programme to our junior squad of 26 swimmers. These swimmers range in skill from those just out of learn-to-swim programmes through to Junior National level. Attendance at selected swim meets may also be required. Support and mentoring will be provided by our Head Coach, plus the opportunity to attend external training courses will be offered to the right
candidate. Ideally we hope to fill this position with one candidate, but job-share will be considered. We would be looking for an immediate start.
The Right Candidate:
- Coaching or learn-to-swim teaching experience, or an experience competitive swimmer
- A genuine interest in swimming
- Ability to help build a positive club environment

• Being an engaging and communicative teacher

To be a successful you must;
• Be an inspirational teacher
• Be passionate about teaching children to swim and providing a 5 Star programme,

• Hold a current ASTA Certificate and registration or equivalent,

We are looking for very capable people for offsite teaching contracts at North Shore primary schools between 13th February to 5th April, Monday to Friday for 3.5 hours each day, 9am to 12.30pm. The ideal applicants will have teaching experience and hold a current First Aid certificate.
ASTA or other Swimming New Zealand qualifications will be highly valued.
Part-time Swim Teacher
We also require teachers for Saturday work, 8.45 - 11.45am and 12.15 - 3.15pm.
Experience is preferred, however not essential, because our extensive in house training programme is part of developing our teachers. To become a skilled HSS teacher the initial training process of up to 30 hours (Un-paid training) will need to be completed before you can be allocated any paid teaching shifts. Kowhai Swimming Club in Warkworth is offering a unique opportunity for a Coach to develop and deliver training programmes for all our swimmers from non-competitive squads to top-level competitive swimmers.
The position is a minimum of 10 hours/week with potential for more hours as the club grows. Preference will be given to candidates with a SNZ Bronze level or equivalent qualification or who have swum competitively to a national level.
